![]() Gastric Bypass Reverses Diabetes in TeensWeight-loss surgery can reverse diabetes in teens, just as it does in adults. In a recent study, all but one of the 11 extremely obese teens that underwent gastric bypass surgery saw their diabetes disappear within a year. Increasing numbers of obese children are being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and this study highlights the benefits of using weight-loss surgery to treat Type 2 diabetes in obese adolescents.
